Julius Justin Ruwaichi

Julius is a Chief Executive Officer of Access Microfinance Bank Tanzania Ltd (formerly AccessBank Tanzania Limited). He is differentiated by uncommon component of Financial Management expertise, complemented by business acumen. This allows him to view business operations with wide lens, followed by narrowing into connecting dots, identify drivers of business, break complex challenges into small manageable tasks for architecting respective solutions, take actions and drive to deliver results.

Making best use of the knowledge, skills and experience in Leadership, harnessed from CEO Apprenticeship Programme and Senior Leadership Development Programmes, he has managed to build engaging teams, earned trust from the workforce towards driving both strategic and operational goals and changes, hence yielding positive results sustainably. Being a firm person upholding Integrity value, care, respect and maintaining responsiveness in teams and community, he has demonstrated sustainable turnarounds in the organization He has a strong foundation in Finance and Accounting, having worked for PwC for the first five years of his career. Then moved into banking sector, starting with Standard Chartered Bank Tanzania, whereby he attained rewarding knowledge, skills and experience for 7 years, working in different senior roles in Finance and Accounting and shortly in Credit Risk Controls.

He was privileged to gain short term international exposures through various short-term engagements within the regional markets. Thereafter, he enhanced his exposure, skills and experience for two years as Financial Controller at NBC Bank, then advanced to Chief Financial Officer for NIC Bank (now NCBA) and then to Access Bank. In year 2018, he was given an additional role of Deputy CEO, before becoming Acting CEO in August 2020 and full CEO in early months of 2021.

He is a graduate Engineer, a graduate Accountant, with Masters in Business Administration.
