Ms. Hilde Merete Nafstad

Hilde Nafstad has an extensive and distinguished career in the oil and gas industry, spanning over three decades. Since 2016, she has served as Vice President and Head of Finance and Control for Equinor’s international upstream oil and gas business. Prior to this, she held several key leadership positions within Equinor, including Country Manager for Equinor, Singapore (2014–2016) and Senior Vice President for Investor Relations (2010–2014).

From 2007 to 2010, she served as President of Statoil Natural Gas LLC in Stamford, Connecticut, and earlier, as Vice President of Business Development at Hydro Gulf of Mexico in Houston, Texas (2005–2007). Between 1997 and 2007, Nafstad held various leadership roles at Norsk Hydro and Saga Petroleum in Norway, including Head of Long-term Gas Sales and Head of Market Analysis and Commercial Strategy. She also has experience in the public sector, having worked at the Norwegian Ministry of Petroleum and Energy, where she held roles including Assistant Director General.

Additionally, she has worked in corporate staff at Aker, a leading industrial investment company. Beyond her corporate roles, she serves as a Non-Executive Director of Norway’s largest insurance company, Gjensidige ASA, and is a Board Member of the foundation Gjensidigestiftelsen. Her extensive leadership experience, combined with her expertise in finance, strategy, and market development, has made her a highly regarded professional in the global energy sector.
