What Interventions Drive Inclusion for People with Disabilities in Workplaces?
The CEO Roundtable of Tanzania (CEOrt), through its Think Equal, Lead Smart (TELS) programme in collaboration with the Vodacom Tanzania Foundation, convened a multi-stakeholder dialogue in Dar es Salaam to address barriers limiting employment opportunities for persons with disabilities. Bringing together government, employers, and advocacy groups, the session focused on the low implementation of the Persons with Disabilities Act of 2010 despite existing legal and international frameworks, alongside persistent challenges such as workplace stigma, limited accessibility, and perceived costs of inclusion. The discussion emphasised the need for stronger enforcement, inclusive workplace investments, and a shift in societal attitudes, highlighting coordinated action as essential to advancing equitable employment and meaningful economic participation for persons with disabilities in Tanzania.
