Dhruv Jog

Dhruv Jog is the Managing Director of Advent Construction Ltd as well as a number of other group companies. Previously residing in Kenya and Australia, he has returned home to Tanzania in 2006. The holder of a double undergraduate degree in Management and Marketing, Dhruv also graduated with Honours in his postgraduate MBA degree in finance and management and was awarded the internationally coveted Golden Key award for academic excellence in recognition of his achievements at one of Australia’s top business Schools.

A proud father of 2 and married man, Dhruv’s business interests are in 5 primary verticals; Construction, Real Estate Development, Food and Beverage, Specialty healthcare (Fertility) and Aggregate/ Sand Manufacturing. Dhruv is known widely for turning around small- medium businesses into large regional corporates with Advent Construction Ltd, JV Developers Ltd being well known examples and for founding new businesses in the dynamic East African region to add value to the growing economy.

Understanding the local business landscape and interfacing that with the global relationships that are critical to the growth and success of the rapidly growing East African region have been key in ensuring successful partnerships with some of the world’s largest and most respected corporates and development institutions. Leading the way in founding and managing dynamic first world compliant businesses, Dhruv has spearheaded the ISO certification and London Stock exchange recognition of Advent Construction and ensured that each of his business interests lead the way in their respective sectors. Outside of Dhruv’s day to day executive function, he has also held the position of Board Director of the Tanzania Private Sector foundation (TPSF) representing the national construction and engineering sector; Steering committee of the Tanzania Real Estate association, and an advisory board member of the SOGA (Skills for Oil and Gas) initiative under the main Germany development Agency (GIZ).

Dhruv is currently a board director on the board of the Strathmore University and an Advisory committee member for the University of Dar es salaam. Dhruv is also heavily involved in private sector development bodies such as the Young Presidents organization (YPO) of which he has held multiple positions including that of Chapter Chairperson for 2021 and 2022. Dhruv dedicates himself in providing help to the society and has a great vision of helping young people grow to great heights.

Education, Healthcare and the eradication of unemployment are three key issues that have been very close to Dhruv’s heart and besides his board positions in relevant institutions; the actual CSR efforts and day to day business practices of the companies he runs reflects the desire to achieve landmark improvements in these sectors.
