Satish Kumar

Satish Kumar is the founder of the Petro Group of Tanzania and occupies the position of the Chairman and Managing Director of the Group. He is a veteran with over two decades of rich experience in the Petroleum industry. Cumulatively, he possesses over 40 years sales, marketing, operations and administrational experience in the Middle East, and Africa He was part of the implementation of the Bulk Procurement System (BPS) while he was a Director at Petroleum Importers Coordinator (PIC), now Petroleum Bulk Procurement Agency (PBPA).

He is a postgraduate in Business Administration and Economics from the University of Mumbai. His breakthrough came with the founding Petrofuel in 2007 with the aim to provide unparalleled service in the industry. His leadership has seen the company achieve the status of being the largest retail distributor of Petroleum products in the country constantly since its inception.

The African Business Leader Award winner believes in women empowerment at the workplace with over 50% of top and middle management positions being occupied by women and is a staunch follower of the Kaizen philosophy with focus across the group on continuous training, learning and optimisation. He led the group to the position it has achieved today.
