Robert Kanda Nyasimi

Robert Nyasimi is a Director and Group CEO for RentCo East Africa, with a demonstrated history of working in the financial services industry. He oversees the running of the leading leasing firm in the region. He is the Pioneer and former Chairman of the Leasing Association of Kenya (LAK) and has leveraged his expertise and experience in asset management to greatly influence and direct the leasing business in Kenya and across the region for decades.

He holds MSc Marketing from University of Glamorgan, UK, Postgraduate Diploma Marketing (DIPM) UK, Advanced dip – CIM UK, Robert is a trained Credit and Risk Manager from Kenya School of Monetary Studies and a registered professional with Associate Kenya Institute of Bankers (AKIB). He has amassed over 25 years of hands on experience in people management, Asset Finance, business development, sales and contracting. Robert brings to his position a well-established background in leadership, Finance and Business development.

Prior to taking on the position of CEO at RentCo in 2014, he managed Rentworks EA Ltd Business functions as the General Manager, where he worked for over 10 years (2004-2014). His experience in this business involved roles at the technical consultant, developing and delivering practical services for a wide variety of Rentworks customers, as well as responsibilities in business development, operational and P&L management. He served as a consultant at International Finance Corporation (IFC) from Oct 2004 to Dec 2004), Previously he was the Deputy Head of Asset Finance at Barclays Bank of Kenya Ltd Apr – May 2003.

RentCo is recognized as a regional leader in leasing and has a highly talented team of professionals who design, develop, sell and deliver world class lease solutions. As CEO and projects lead, Robert goal is to drive a portfolio change aligned to changing customer needs. His responsibilities in this role include developing new service offers and work with product teams, marketing, sales and delivery to ensure flawless execution at region and country levels.
