The fifth class graduated in Dar es Salaam, marking CAP’s fifth anniversary — over 90 local executives trained, developing leaders rooted in excellence and prepared to drive Tanzania’s transformation and Vision 2050.
CAP alumni across all cohorts convened for a knowledge session and the formal launch of the CAP Alumni Network — a standing community of programme graduates.
Cohort 5 participants were inducted into the Business Simulation module, exercising judgment across R&D, marketing, operations, finance and organisational behaviour.
An initial three-year project supported by Vodacom Tanzania, launched with Hon. Mwanaidi Ali Hamisi, Deputy Minister of Community Development, Gender, Women and Special Needs, as guest.
Held on the theme “Power, Influence and Leaving a Legacy”, with a keynote by Ambassador Ombeni Sefue on the responsibilities that come with leadership at the top.
Guest of Honour Hon. Deogratius Ndejembi joined speakers Ms. Ruth Zaipuna (CEO, NMB Bank), Dr. George Njenga (Dean, Strathmore Business School) and Cohort 1 alumnus Mr. Unguu Sulay (MD, Coca-Cola Kwanza).
Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa was guest of honour as the pioneering 16 graduated: “This training has come at the right time and in line with the government’s philosophy of ‘Hapa Kazi Tu’.”
Former President Benjamin Mkapa addressed the 16 CAP candidates: “My mentor was Mwalimu Nyerere. He selected me from civil service and coached me into politics.”
A look inside CAP’s mentorship evenings: “The art of passing knowledge and expertise through a mentor relationship stands to create a meaningful impact.”
The next cohort of the CEO Apprenticeship Programme is the next chapter of this story. Apply, or nominate a rising executive you believe in.
